In the Karaoke room you can sing your heart out. We offer a great selection of songs.
In one room, guests are offered to watch a Japanese Drama series and in another room Classical Japanese films.
We will have a selection of Japanese literature as it has been passed down through the ages on display. The booths attendants will do their best to answer any questions that you might have about the rich literary history of Japan.
Japan Festival guests are invited to an introduction to Japanese j-pop and j-rock music. Japanese music videos will also be shown on a big screen. At 2pm on the main stage of Háskólatorg the Japanese band Tansuygyo (Freshwater fish) play a few songs.
The cuisine-booth will be offering samples of japanese food to Festival attendees. The owner of the renowned SuZushii, a certified sushi master, Sigurður Karl Guðgeirsson, will assist the students of Japanese Language and Culture preparing and serving high-quality sushi, as well as other small courses traditional to the Japanese. First come, first served!
